Half a million registrations automated.
The team at Healthtech-1

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM (May 10th, 2024) — Healthtech-1 reaches 500,000 automated registrations.
Overnight, the milestone of half a million automated registrations was reached. A best-in-class registration form and automation platform ensures that patients get registered with their GP practice on the same day, every day.
Today, 1 in 10 new patient registrations in England is powered by Healthtech-1.
There's a high chance you, or someone you know, has used the registration form which covers everything GP practices need to ask patients to ensure they deliver high quality care. More than 620 practices from Durham to Devon have chosen Healthtech-1 to automate their admin — a number which has grown significantly over the last year.
Jonny, Software Engineer at Healthtech-1, said: "It felt pretty cool when my sister registered at her new GP practice using our form!".
Not only do practices benefit from savings in staff time and increased patient satisfaction, but data quality becomes standardised. Mistakes which practice staff can make when processing repetitive admin are gone, and high quality recording of important patient information happens instead — 24/7, 365.
The news comes as Healthtech-1 launched translation capabilities for 17 languages and completed an expert accessibility review of the registration form with the Digital Accessibility Centre.
"Choosing Healthtech-1 was the most popular thing our PCN has ever done!" said Dr Laura Mount, Clinical Director at Central & West Warrington Primary Care Network.
Since the first Central & West Warrington PCN practice went live in August last year, 511 registrations have been automated which amounts to 94.7% of their entire registration workload. Patient satisfaction sits at 4.7 out of 5 and 121 hours of staff time has been liberated for the practice. 4 out of 6 practices in the PCN are live, with the final 2 practices joining this month.
Practices see real-time insights into the data behind registrations and can easily manage their registrations through Healthtech-1's Hub. This is key for practices who have experienced local patient list dispersals and, of course, the annual university registration seasons which require close monitoring of registration data.
Sue Mountford, a registration clerk at Claypath & University Medical Practice in Durham, said: "I've been registering patients for 20+ years - you have no idea how much stress this saves. It meant I could go on holiday during university season for the first time!".
This milestone totals 67 years of NHS staff time liberated. That's more capacity to do what the NHS does best - care for patients, not paperwork.
The team of 14 are based out of a GP practice in East London and design solutions based on their own experiences of working in general practice. So, although automating is a change from the decades old process of patients filling out paper forms to get access to their GP, practices quickly see the benefit of implementing technology that just works.
Matthew, Catalyst at Healthtech-1, said: "Having grown up around a GP practice with my practice manager mum, I saw that most health tech companies don't know how to fully solve the problems faced in the NHS, so I'm proud that we're really solving them!". Everyone in the team is an NHS staff member and spends 1 day a week doing real registration work.
This time last year, NHS England named Healthtech-1 as a selected supplier of automation for the national Register with a GP service. The integration allows practices to take advantage of accepting registrations directly through the NHS Find a GP service without the admin burden of processing registration forms.
With sights set on the next 500,000 registrations, Healthtech-1 launched Automated Lab Reports in October at the Best Practice Show. The company's latest product, aimed at clinical admin, has been warmly welcomed by Healthtech-1 supporters across the country and was featured in local news.
Healthtech-1 is on a mission to help the NHS become the most advanced healthcare provider in the world.
